  • Why is waxing better than shaving?
When you wax, the entire hair shaft is removed, root and all, rather than cutting it off at the surface of the skin like you do when you shave. This leaves your skin super smooth with no stubble. Waxing also lasts much longer than shaving, and the hair grows back thinner and finer with repeated treatments.
  • What should I do to prepare before my wax?
Gently exfoliate your skin the night before. Advil, ibuprofen or aspririn can be taken approximately 30 minutes before services to minimize the pain.
  • How long should my hair be for waxing?
The best bet is about 1/4 an inch. For most people, this means waiting two weeks after shaving before you wax.
  • Is waxing painful?
The answer to this question is it depends. For many people, yes waxing is painful. The first time a person waxes, their hair follicles aren’t used to being pulled out so they hold tightly to the hair. As one continues to wax, the follicles begin to soften and pull much easier with each wax. Meaning with each consecutive wax, it will be less painful. This is another reason we encourage you to keep up with your waxing.
  • What type of wax do you use?
We use a specialty stripless hard wax for all services. I chose this wax after years of experience using both soft wax and hard wax along with weeks of personal research to find the perfect wax for ER Wax Bar.
  • I am overweight/have stretch marks/or am otherwise uncomfortable with my body. Should I still consider body waxing?
Absolutely! As an Esthetician, I work with people from all backgrounds and of all shapes and sizes. I see half dressed bodies all day long, and the last thing I am doing while performing a service is judging you! Try scheduling a smaller service, like a brow wax first, and see if you feel comfortable.
  • Do you offer a Brazilian waxing for male anatomy?
Yes we do. The "Bare Bar" is only available at the Garner-40/42 location with Erin.
  • Is it safe to wax when you're pregnant?
Waxing is completely safe during pregnancy. You can wax up until the day you give birth, just make sure you consult your doctor before. Please note that because of your pregnancy and hormones, your skin tends to be more sensitive which could make the service a little bit uncomfortable.

  • Why did you close the Raleigh location?
Our Raleigh location at Salon Lofts off of Falls of Neuse Rd was just the beginning. We started accepting clients on June 29th, 2020 and continued through May of 2021. In January of 2021 we opened our own storefront at 40/42 and decided to focus all of our energy and efforts to growing the business in Garner. We closed the Raleigh location in May of 2021 and focused all of our attention to the growth of our current location.
